When the weather is nice, I often go back and forth from my studio to the garden which it overlooks, sometimes the door remains open, and I wear my garden clogs and artist apron. When I am thinking too much, I retreat to the garden to clear my mind, conversely when I need to think I also retreat to the garden to ponder. My garden is both my muse and where much musing transpires. Every year I think about the direction I want to go in my art. This past year I have wanted to both return to some of the traditional teachings from my early days at PAFA while moving ahead in the world of technology and media, for this reason you will see in these works a lot of experimentation and synthesis of the old with the new. Just like one of my paintings, my life is a decision of what to let go of and what to hold onto and of course what to create. I look forward to relaunching my web site this summer and moving ahead.
