Previously, he played an active role in developing numerous companies, including New South, NuVox, Upstate Automotive, Ionosphere, Greenville Journal, E.C. Transportation, and Greenville First Bank.A recognized leader and corporate visionary in Greenville, Leighton’s entrepreneurial background is steeped in the telecom industry. His vision and pursuit of excellence for hyper growth organizations have resulted in notable achievements such as South Carolina Entrepreneur of the Year (1993) and INC 500 #128 (1995). Leighton has also served on boards in the automotive, banking, and healthcare industries, including two terms as Chairman for the Greenville Hospital System, the largest healthcare organization in South Carolina. He currently serves as the Chairman of the SC Venture Capital Authority.

The annual Holiday Fair kicks off the Christmas shopping season in the Upstate. The Holiday Village area is for crafters, and the Christmas Bazaar area is for commercial/retailers and crafters, and people with a mix of products. This show is juried on the Holiday Village (crafter side).

Join in for Greenville's very own Night of Lights as it lights up the town with holiday lights and festivities! Live entertainment from the Greenville Jazz Collective will begin at 5:00 p.m. complete with food options from HWY 301, We Got the Beets and One Love Fusion Foods food trucks, in addition to Coffee Underground! The tree lighting ceremony will take place at 6:30 p.m. Night of Lights is family friendly and FREE admission.

Music From the Hills (A Celtic Christmas) is an evening of traditional Scottish harmonies, featuring professional Harpist Sue Richards and Celtic Guitarist Robin Bullock. It's purpose is to bring ancient cultures to this modern era for enjoyment and enlightenment. Starting at 6:30 PM, they will be serving hors d'oeuvres, along with 2 complimentary refreshments of your choice of beer or wine. Single Malt Scotch will be available for a fee.

RMHC of the Carolinas is pleased to announce its annual gala will debut a new name this year as the Hearts & Hands Gala. In its 19th year the Hearts & Hands Gala presented by Soul Yoga, will be held on Friday, November 30th at the TD Convention Center.

It's none other than the multi-award-winning music recording and jazz vocalist, James Torme, son of the legendary musician/composer/actor, Mel Torme. Mr. Torme brings his unique, smooth style to our annual holiday pops concert -- season's greetings from the GSO! "Holiday at Peace" is presented by United Community Bank.

DECEMBER 2 | The first movie night will kick off with our first short movie, Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas, where a grumpy hermit hatches a plan to steal Christmas from the Whos of Whoville. We’ll follow it up with a showing of Disney’s The Santa Clause, a film where a man inadvertently becomes the new Santa Claus.
 

DECEMBER 9 | The second movie night will kick off with a short movie, Disney’s Prep & Landing, in which one of Santa’s elves gets a new rookie partner and has to relearn the Spirit of Christmas and the importance of being an elf in Santa’s Prep and Landing elite unit. We’ll follow it up with a showing of the Arthur Christmas, in which Santa’s clumsy son Arthur sets out on a mission with St. Nick’s father to give out a present they misplaced to a young girl in less than 2 hours.

Who doesn’t love a good hot cocoa bar and painting? In this class, The Art Haven School of Art instructors will walk you through each step of painting a beautiful winter Cardinal. Stick to the guides or make it your own! Perfect for 5-year-olds to adults of any skill level!

It’s time to get crafty again! In this workshop, kids of all ages (and their guardians) will learn woodcarving techniques and tricks from the Piedmont Wood Carvers. Attendees will then get to try their hand at carving, by making a work of art from a bar of soap (youth under 12) or wood (13+). All materials included. Limited space available!
