Greenville Downtown Saturday Market

On Saturday mornings from the beginning of May until the end of October, two blocks of downtown Greenville’s Main Street are transformed into a bustling farmers' market. The market features over 75 vendors selling the season’s freshest produce and the area’s most original and high quality crafts.  Each week thousands of people flock to the TD Saturday Market for locally-sourced products where all food must be grown or produced within 100 miles of Greenville and crafters are highly-encouraged to use locally-sourced supplies.

When the market launched in 2003, downtown Greenville was just beginning to flourish. The market was located on a small side street and was comprised of roughly 20 vendors. Attendance was low during the market’s infancy, however, as word spread and Main Street’s popularity as a destination for shopping, dining, and entertainment grew, so did the market’s attendance.  In 2007, the market relocated to Main Street. Now, about to enter its 17th season in May, the market offers exciting programming, including live music, children’s activities and chef’s demonstrations sponsored by partnerships with local organizations.

There is something undeniably special about Greenville’s TD Saturday Market. We invite you to join us Saturday mornings to experience it for yourself!

Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder

Skaggs is a 15 time GRAMMY® Award-winner whose career is easily among the most significant in recent country music history. If Skaggs’ burgeoning trophy case full of awards wasn’t already enough evidence of that fact, consider that legendary guitarist Chet Atkins once credited him with “single-handedly saving country music.” His life’s path has taken him to various musical genres & artistic journeys, while still leaving his bluegrass roots intact. Skaggs struck his first chords on a mandolin more than 50 years ago & he continues to do his part to lead the roots revival in music. His passion puts him in the position to bring the lively, distinctively American form of music into the ears & hearts of audiences across the country & around the world. Born in 1954 in Cordell, Kentucky, Ricky Skaggs is always forging ahead with cross-cultural, genre-bending musical ideas & inspirations.

The 3 Wise Guys – Comedy Show

A collaboration of 3 headlining comedians that have come together for 1 hilarious show. Dan Mengini, Steve Mingolla & Vinnie Coppola are the wise guys. Dan is a comedy veteran that has been rocking comedy stages over for 20 years. His “too worried about too little & not really smart enough to do anything about it” mindset combined with his slim stature earned him the nickname “Featherweight Champion of Over-thinking!”. Dubbed “The Nice Guy”, Steve’s act is clean & never mean. A true comedy pro, he has performed in over 40 states, his mastery of the craft is second to none. For over 2 decades Vinnie has been spreading his uniquely skewed & charmingly cynical perspective to appreciative comedy audiences everywhere. A “comic’s comic”. His real secret weapon is his persona, from the moment he hits the stage you fall in love with him & this has allowed him to lead an audience up to & sometimes over, the comedy edge much to their unexpected delight.

Dailey & Vincent

Grand Ole Opry Members, Five-time GRAMMY® award winners individually, three-time GRAMMY® award nominees collectively, four-time DOVE Award winners, and winners of 35 IBMA Awards altogether (including 3-time IBMA Entertainer of the Year Award winners and 3-Time Vocal Group of the Year Award winners), Jamie Dailey and Darrin Vincent, backed by one of the best bands on tour today, are some of the most reputable and elite entertainers in American music; bluegrass, traditional country and gospel music. The concoction of the fantastically instinctive vocal blends of Dailey’s tenor and Vincent’s reedy harmonies has gained them well-deserved praise for their own distinctive style and worldwide recognition as American Music gold. Dailey & Vincent has garnered world-wide attention with their first national, top-rated television series, “The Dailey & Vincent Show,” on RFD TV and over 500 airings of their PBS special “Dailey & Vincent ALIVE – In Concert.”

Upstate Senior Issues Workshop

As part of the Ten at the Top Senior Issues Committee's stated goal of being intentional about addressing senior needs, this workshop will look at the issue of food access for seniors. According to SC's Council on Aging, 20% of South Carolinians over the age of 60 are food insecure, so the barriers that seniors face in accessing nutritious food need to be identified and removed. Our panelists will cover a range of topics relating to this issue.

This is the second of four workshops to be hosted over the course of 2019. The purpose is to educate and raise awareness to a variety of community stakeholders. This will create an opportunity to begin a much larger discussion of senior issues at a regional level.

Into the Woods

Based on multiple whimsical fairytales all intertwined, this Tony Award winning musical explores what happens after happily ever after. As the result of the curse of a once beautiful witch, a baker and his wife are childless. Three days before the rise of a blue moon, they venture into the forest to find the ingredients that will reverse the spell and restore the witch’s beauty: a milk white cow, hair as yellow as corn, a blood red cape, and a slipper of gold. During their journey, they meet Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Rapunzel and Jack, each one on a quest to fulfill a wish.

Treehouse

Johnny and his pals, Oliver and Ben, could be typical 17 year old boys, hanging out in Johnny’s treehouse and dreaming of talking to the beautiful Alana, were it not for Johnny’s insistence that he has the mind of a 53 year old. As Johnny persists in his claim that he’s an old man in a teenager’s body, and conversations in the treehouse become increasingly peppered by the words of the Bard, Johnny grapples simultaneously with adolescence, love, and the mind’s ability to heal from great loss. Through his budding friendship with Alana, Johnny comes to realize the life affirming power of “the eternal summer that shall not fade.”
