Greenville Tech Foundation Workforce Development Salute


The Workforce Development Salute is Greenville Tech Foundation’s premiere annual event that honors and recognizes community businesses, individuals, and partners for their significant support of the workforce development and education efforts of Greenville Technical College. This year, we honor Dodie Anderson, The Jolley Foundation, and Lockheed Martin. Proceeds from this event will provide unrestricted funds in support of the Greenville Tech Foundation mission. This year’s event will be tentatively held on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at the Hyatt Regency Ballroom in downtown Greenville, SC with a reception beginning at 5:30 p.m. and a seated program at 6:30 p.m. featuring our honorees. The event is attended by over 400 community and business leaders and is an opportunity to feature all the many ways the partnership between the Foundation, Greenville Technical College, and the business community influences the quality of the education, exceptional applied learning skills, and the ultimate success of students who are well-prepared to enter the workforce.
“As the business community in the Upstate prospers, it is more important than ever that we continue to provide workers with the skills and education they need to meet the growing demands of area companies”, said Ann Wright, Vice President for Advancement for the Greenville Tech Foundation. “This event helps recognize the outstanding efforts of individuals and businesses in our community who support our students and their success, as well as raise awareness about the opportunities and programs that are provided by Greenville Technical College to meet workforce goals.”
The Greenville Tech Foundation supports the efforts of Greenville Technical College to transform students’ lives and help the community thrive by providing a world-class affordable education to students and building an educated, engaged workforce. The Foundation hosts this event annually to celebrate the successes of students, the efforts of the college, and the contributions of the businesses and community members in building the local workforce.

2019 Laurens County Youth Livestock Shows


The Laurens County Youth Livestock Shows will be held at the Laurens Exchange Building on August 23 - 24, 2019. The shows are open to current 4-H and FFA members who reside in South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia. Please make sure to read show rules and regulations for this year's updates. The show is FREE to spectators so make sure to come out and support our youth!! Concessions available on site.

Fiber, Paper, Scissors: AR Talk

Fiber, Paper, Scissors showcases four artists from the Greenville area whose emphasis on their chosen medium celebrates the beauty of cloud formations and South Carolina's landscapes.

Douglas Piper (Greenville, SC), Meredith Piper (Greenville, SC), and Mark Mulfinger (Greenville, SC) see an unexplained beauty in the clouds which is intrinsically tied to their their craft. Their body of work Amongst the Clouds consists of various mediums including work based in batik, watercolor, acrylic and oil paint, block prints, and textile. Their work will on display in Gallery A.

Trivia Night: Library After Hours

Once a month we are sampling all FOUR of the previous month's featured coffees, in the open environment of Pharmacy Coffee in the historic Montgomery Building.
We aim to make this a drop-in educational experience where you can taste our coffees side by side with one of our barista and/or roasting experts. This event will be a full sensory experience, where we demonstrate each flavor profile with tasting, smelling, and tactile cues.

Colors Mural Reveal at The Bethlehem Center

The COLORS program has engaged the youth at the Bethlehem Center in the Highlands neighborhood for a couple of years, working on all sort of art projects. This summer, we are delighted to partner with Frankie Zombie, Andy Cooper of Hub City Bees, and the staff and volunteers at the Bethlehem Center to create a spectacular large scale mural using grant funds from the Spartanburg County Foundation.

Join us on Friday July 19 and meet COLORS and SAM staff, our friends at the Bethlehem Center, and our guest artist Frankie Zombie, who has been a true inspiration to our program and this community. This will be a fun filled event with food, games, and the BIG MURAL REVEAL!

About the Band:
The Carolina Coast Band evolved in 2013 from the efforts of three former members of The Out-Of-Towners Band as well as other well-known regional beach music bands from the upstate of South Carolina. The band delivers a combined 90 years of experience in Beach, Motown, R&B, and Oldies music to satisfy the demands of today’s party requests. Their popularity continues to grow as they span the East Coast of the US performing and promoting Carolina Beach Music, Rhythm and Blues, and Party Music.

The band is a member of the Carolina Beach Music Association, (CBMA), and members of the band have previously won or have been nominated for several awards by the association during the past years, joining the ranks of the many great Beach Music bands in their industry. Look for them in November of 2017 at The CBMA awards Weekend Celebration at North Myrtle Beach.

About the Band:
Mac Arnold’s first band included James Brown on piano. Mac moved to Chicago and Muddy Waters hired him on the spot. He toured and recorded with the Muddy Waters Band and recorded LPs with Otis Spann and John Lee Hooker. Mac moved to Los Angeles and produced Soul Train with his friend Don Cornelius. He even played bass on the Sanford & Son television show when he wasn't playing bass for Otis Redding and B.B. King. He retired from show business to be an organic farmer. Mac is back with his own band and a "plate full" of CDs, building a new foundation in blues, soul and funk.

Twenty One Pilots


Twenty One Pilots announce a concert date in Greenville, SC! The duo is best known for the singles "Stressed Out", "Ride", and "Heathens". The group received a Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards.

We had such a blast doing the Watermelon Crawl, we just have to do it again! The Watermelon Crawl Festival is proud to call Hagood Mill Home. The festival will include raffles, prizes, watermelon craft vendors, live music, and much more! Featuring Zack Turner, co-writer of Watermelon Crawl by Tracy Byrd.

The "FAME" Radio Show (From 94.5 - The Answer) brings the South Carolina Country Concert to the Pickens County Performing Arts Center featuring Ashland Craft ("as seen on" NBC's The Voice), Luke Smith Music (a hometown favorite), and Parker Ford from Fordofficialmusic (23 year old Liberty Native and up-and-comer)!

A percentage of all proceeds go to benefit the upstate's Make-A-Wish Foundation!
