Impressionism – Ravel and Riesling

IgorBegelman-660.jpg
Peace Interludes are FREE music appreciation gatherings that unpack the rich traditions and diverse styles of great composers. Each month will feature a unique composer and drink pairing, providing a multi-sensory sip, listen, and learn experience that highlights a musical period.

Step into one of Claude Monet’s gardens and delight in the Impressionist period when music sought to convey moods or capture feelings. Mimicking the visual artists of the time, the structure of a work of art became subordinate to its effect. In the years containing the first movie theater and the invention of color photography, the world was brimming with opportunities to fill life with audio and visual encounters. Be impressed and join us!

Tap Dogs

TapDogs
This is not just tap. Experience high voltage, rugged, raw talent in the tap dance phenomenon that has taken the world by storm. Dein Perry's Tap Dogs takes the stage with its “positively electrifying” (The New York Observer) trademark blend of live music and tap dance like you've never seen before.

“Part theatre, part dance, part rock concert, and part construction site” (BBC), the show is crammed with high-energy dance, theatrical performance, and live music. Whether in water, upside-down, or jumping through scaffolding, the Tap Dogs have been performing to the beat of their own drum for over 20 years.

Winner of over 15 international awards including an Olivier Award and an Obie Award, this global musical smash hit has appeared in more than 330 cities on six continents and has been seen live by over 12 million people. A worldwide television audience of more than 3.4 billion saw 1,000 Tap Dogs performing in the Opening Ceremony of the Sydney Olympics.

SBDC Growth & Hard Conversations

Managing a Business

Growth: Every business talks about it, but are you ready for it? Do you have the systems in place to meet the demands? Do you know how to prepare for and then create opportunities for growth?

Tim Joiner of Greenville-based 3Fold can talk about what companies need to be doing when they are small in order to handle rapid growth in the future. From building systems to reinventing your job description to the psychology of growth, this presentation is full of thought-provoking ideas to stimulate personal, professional, and organizational growth.

Hard Conversations: Business leaders fear hard conversations because they want to avoid conflict. In those uncomfortable settings, they must address issues that may have been dormant for years, they risk relationships, and can disrupt the company peace and its stability. Why go there and do that?

To take the next steps and get out of their comfort zone, they must.

What can they do? Jim Wiginton of Broad Insights can help business leaders with these hard conversations. A business coach based out of Greenville, his firm has helped more than 120 businesses and their leaders reach their next level of success in the past six years.
