Sybarite5 challenges the traditional ideas of chamber music with their expansive repertoire and innovative style. The string quintet plays a mixture of covers of familiar songs and music composed for the ensemble, incorporating traditional playing with unique techniques to achieve a sound that is all their own. Heralded as the “Millennial Kronos,” the group has been swift to catch the attention of the music world. Their debut album quickly reached the top ten on the Billboard charts and a follow-up album was released to critical acclaim at Carnegie Hall.

Introducing the Fine Arts Center Jazz All Stars Concert Series. This new partnership between the Fine Arts Center and the Peace Center’s Community Impact program gives up-and-coming young artists the opportunity to showcase their skills and perform in a professional setting. Featuring students from both the jazz studies and vocal departments, along with Jazz Studies Instructor Steve Watson and Voice Instructor Danielle Knox, these concerts give you the opportunity to see local rising stars.

The February program will feature selections from the Great American Songbook, including works from composers Jerome Kern, Cole Porter, Jimmy Van Heusen, and Irving Berlin.

Welcome to the 11th Annual Upstate Run & Roll 5K  - a 5K and 1 Mile Walk/Roll at Cleveland Park in beautiful downtown Greenville, SC!

The Brain Injury Association of South Carolina (BIASC) is dedicated to creating a better future through brain injury prevention, research, education and advocacy. We are the only nonprofit organization in the state dedicated to preventing and helping those with brain injury. The Upstate Run & Roll 5K and 1 Mile Walk / Roll began as a support for brain injury survivors and a tool for awareness. It was initially about the patients and giving them the opportunity to participate in something with meaning. This event has increased from 45 participants to 400+ participants with participants who are both brain injury survivors and teams that run/walk/roll in honor or memory of someone. The Run For Thought has become a community event that includes brain injury survivors, caregivers, providers, as well as competitive runners.

Please note - This event is run mostly on the Swamp Rabbit Trail throughout Cleveland Park in downtown Greenville. 100% of the run is on pavement.

Steinway Artist Sandra Wright Shen will present a recital Thursday, Feb. 28, at 8 p.m. in Daniel Recital Hall on the Furman University campus. Her concert is free and open to the public and is presented by the Furman Department of Music. The program includes music by Bach, Beethoven, Liszt, Ravel, Messiaen and Chopin.

Peace Voices Adult Writing Workshops offer a place to create for everyone from experienced writers to beginners. Workshops are led by Amy Randall, who guides participants as they tell their own stories through the craft of poetry.

The Grimm fairy tale of how an abused girl rises above her circumstances to triumph over those who hurt her, Cinderella: The Ballet is the family-oriented story that will never change or lose its sparkle even after the stroke of midnight. Everything you know and love from Cinderella is here, but with renewed significance as both a family-oriented story and a statement for our society where girls are stronger than they appear. Choreographed by the esteemed Hernan Justo, you will not want to miss Cinderella.

DTG’s Performance Company newest full-length production, “X,” is a collaboration of contemporary works from resident and guest choreographers inspired by the number ten.
