Please join SPACE and Thicketty Mountain Farm for an exciting new spring event: Bonnamoo! You won't want to miss this celebration of music, food, and farms at our beautiful Cleveland Preserve Farm. We've wanted to showcase this property for a while and we've found the perfect opportunity!

Those dining with us will enjoy a unique dinner carefully crafted by well-known Spartanburg chefs William and Jamie Cribb with wine pairings by Greg Atkins. The chefs will source local ingredients from their friends at Full Circle Farm, Lilly Mae Organics, and Colonial Milling. Featured on the menu will be grass-fed, sustainably raised beef from Thicketty Mountain Farm, Spartanburg’s only organic cattle farm, whose home is SPACE’s own Cleveland Preserve Farm. Every seat will be a seat at the chef's table as guests enjoy a spectacularly paired farm-to-table experience. Local musician, Janeen Scott will play while guests enjoy their meal. Following the dinner, guests are invited to mosey down the hill to enjoy a live performance by the Shane Pruitt Band, a Spartanburg favorite whose music embodies a regional tradition of blues and gospel while bringing its original tone and flare to every performance. Once the stage is warmed up, musical headliners Southern Culture On The Skids (SCOTS) will take the stage! SCOTS has been consistently recording and touring around the world since 1983. Their music has been featured in movies and TV, and their legendary live shows are a testament to the therapeutic powers of foot-stomping, butt-shaking rock-and-roll.

This meeting is intended for leaders of organizations or departments involved in the food system, but everyone is welcome. We need your input on what is working and not working in regards to accessing healthy and local food in Spartanburg County.

Enjoy an evening of song focused on the sheer joy of dance in all its many styles & languages. Featuring music by Mark Patterson, John Leavitt, Tawn Thomas, Stephen Hatfield, Stacy Gibbs and many others. Performed by the Greenville Chamber Singers, an auditioned four-part women's ensemble that performs throughout the southeast.

The 3-day event brings 115,000+ people downtown for the music, food, shopping, kids rides, and tons of special attractions. Exhibit Description: The South Carolina Festival of Flowers Juried Youth Art Show was established in 2015, as a sanctioned event in coincidence with the festival, with funding attributed to an established endowment in the name of the late, Virginia Self. The annual show will be on display in the Reception Hall at The Arts Center from May 23 - June 8, 2018 with an opening reception scheduled for Thursday, May 31 @ 5 - 6:30 pm for all included entrants. Entry forms will be posted here at a later date.

John Hunt from MarketNsight will present data illustrating how first-time home-buying millennials and down-sizing baby boomers are more than willing to give up home and lot size in exchange for living closer to amenities. The presentation will include local and national data, and how developers and home builders can use this data to develop competitive products that meet the needs of the community.

Missing Middle Housing
Tony Perez from Opticos Design, a nationally recognized architecture and urban design firm, will share about missing middle home types, which can help build “hidden density” that supports local businesses and public transportation. The presentation will cover benefits and challenges of this housing strategy.

Join us for a writing group held on the first Monday of each month for Hub City members and led by staff and local writers.

On June 3, author and USC Upstate professor Thomas McConnell will lead a session entitled "Writing and Paying Attention."

What distinguishes passable or tolerable writing from prose that excels? Partly it has to do with being alert to the pitfalls and promise of language. We'll examine particular passages from writers—famous and otherwise—who have a lot to teach us by example—for good or ill—about writing and paying attention.
