Oconee Farm Crawl

Oconee Farm Crawl

Upstate South Carolina is home to some of the best produce in the country. Now that spring is here, several farms are opening their gates for the public to see what they do best.

Featuring 22 farms with a variety of specialties, the Oconee Farm Crawl is giving consumers a chance to see exactly where their food comes from. There will be fresh produce, livestock, horses, and much more!

At your convenience, you can meander from farm to farm to see exactly how local agriculture impacts our community. Participants can spend as little or as much time at each farm they decide to visit.

The Oconee Farm Crawl will take place on May 16 and Sept. 19. Tickets are $10. Participants are responsible for their own transportation.

South Carolina Opportunity Zones

South Carolina Opportunity Zones

Economic development and job creation are vital to the success of our region. Under new legislation, Opportunity Zones are set to be redesignated every 10 years with major revisions to the program.

As a result of the revisions, several current Opportunity Zones will be ineligible for program incentives. In reaction to this, SC Commerce and Gov. Henry McMaster are designating up to 25% of eligible census tracts in South Carolina as Opportunity Zones.

Currently, we are in the community nomination period for the Opportunity Zone designation. Local governments and economic growth organizations will receive a list of eligible areas and how to submit their endorsements.

Submissions are due by June 1. For more information about Opportunity Zone designation, criteria, and a list of deadlines, visit the link below.
