“Mr. Scrooge!” Performance at SMC, Spartanburg

The familiar story of Ebenezer Scrooge will be recast as a stage musical this December at Spartanburg Methodist College.“Mr. Scrooge!” a modern and occasionally whimsical take on the Charles Dickens classic, “A Christmas Carol,” will be presented at SMC on December 6 and December 7 at 7:00 p.m. in Gibbs Auditorium of Ellis Hall. The public is invited and the performance is free. The musical features a variety of styles, from rock to salsa, without losing the original story’s meaning or leaving Dickens purists upset.

Handel’s “Messiah” Coming To Limestone College, Gaffney

Celebrate the beginning of Advent by attending the performance of the Christmas portion of Handel’s “Messiah” by the Limestone College & Community Chorus.  The concert, accompanied by chamber orchestra, will be held in Fullerton Auditorium at 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 2. There is no admission charge for this event sponsored by the Limestone College Department of Music.
Limestone Central Elementary School chorus students will participate in opening and closing selections. Graduating seniors Windy Addington, Luke Holt, and Jade Alford will be recognized and will be featured as soloists in the spiritual “Amen.”  The performance is dedicated to the memory of two outstanding Gaffney citizens who passed away this past year, Dr. G. Preston Edwards and Mr. James (Jimmy) Moss.

Donnell Rawlings, Greenville

Donnell Rawlings is an overnight success a decade in the making. You’ve seen him on Comedy Central’s award winning and critically celebrated Chappelle’s Show as ‘Ashy Larry’, the 70’s jheri curled ‘Beautiful’, and numerous other characters he’s played. Donnell is the franchise player Dave Chappelle and Neal Brennan wanted as a writer and prime time player on their team. Since Dave Chappelle had business to take care of in Africa, Donnell was asked to step into the huge shoes Dave left behind, and host the Lost Episodes. “Hilarious” is what Linda Stasi of The New York Post calls Donnell’s performance as host.

Bacon and Bourbon Spartanburg will bring our community together in support of St. Luke's Free Medical Clinic for a night that will not be forgotten. Hosted in Drayton Mills' hot new event space, this fundraiser will feature bourbon tastings from multiple distilleries, creative bacon dishes from your favorite local restaurants, live music, a mechanical bull and laser skeet shooting. Miss Saigon at the Peace Center


Experience the acclaimed new production of the legendary musical Miss Saigon, from the creators of Les Misérables. In the last days of the Vietnam War, 17-year-old Kim is forced to work in a bar run by a notorious character known as the Engineer. There she meets and falls in love with an American G.I. named Chris, but they are torn apart by the fall of Saigon. For three years, Kim goes on an epic journey of survival to find her way back to Chris, who has no idea he's fathered a son. This new production features stunning spectacle and a sensational cast of 42, performing the soaring score featuring Broadway hits including “The Heat is On in Saigon,” “The Movie in My Mind,” and “Last Night of the World.”

Miss Saigon  contains some scenes and language which may not be suitable for younger audience members, including scenes of a sexual nature. This performance will contain strobe lights, gun shots and pyrotechnic effects.
