The Easter Bunny Trail Hop 5K offers trail runners a unique twist on the traditional trail run experience. Participants will run/walk 5 kilometers on a rolling course that winds its way through the beautiful Lake Conestee Nature Park on a mix of dirt and pavement. Along the course, runners will find Easter Eggs stuffed with goodies and a number. Each runner can pick up one egg and match the number inside to a prize at the finish line. It’s an Easter Egg Hunt and a Trail Run all in one. If you’re lucky (and fast enough) you might even catch the Easter Bunny hiding some of the eggs…if you’re lucky. Everyone wins something!
FREE Kids Egg Hunt: We will also have a special Easter Egg Hunt for the children ages 8 and under after the finish. Conestee features a large playground and smooth walking path for those with little kids, so bring the whole family for some fun. We welcome 5k runners and parents to help hide eggs for the kids. Lake Conestee Nature Park is one of the best facilities in the county, and this is a great opportunity to see all the fantastic improvements that have been made to this wonderful outdoor oasis. Walkers and runners welcome. Dogs are welcome on a short leash and owner must clean up after dog. Strollers are not recommended because of steps on boardwalks. The Easter Bunny Trail Hop 5K is race #2 in the 7 race Greenville Dirt Series. Run at least 4 races in the series to be considered for the overall trail running championship for your age group. Based on multiple whimsical fairytales all intertwined, this Tony Award winning musical explores what happens after happily ever after. As the result of the curse of a once beautiful witch, a baker and his wife are childless. Johnny and his pals, Oliver and Ben, could be typical 17 year old boys, hanging out in Johnny’s treehouse and dreaming of talking to the beautiful Alana, were it not for Johnny’s insistence that he has the mind of a 53 year old. As Johnny persists in his claim that he’s an old man in a teenager’s body, and conversations in the treehouse become increasingly peppered by the words of the Bard, Johnny grapples simultaneously with adolescence, love, and the mind’s ability to heal from great loss. Through his budding friendship with Alana, Johnny comes to realize the life affirming power of “the eternal summer that shall not fade.”

Phil Hughes to kick off Poolside Chat series at Topside Pool Club
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Topside Pool Club has started a new business series aimed at letting some of the Upstate’s biggest names in business tell their story in a new kind of setting.
Poolside Chat will launch on April 4 at 5:30 at the downtown pool club with special guest Phil Hughes, said Jaci Willing, Topside membership and event director. A limited number of seats are available for this exclusive event and free registration can be found at www.topsidepoolclub.com.
Hughes is the founder and President of Hughes Investments, Inc., a commercial real estate development company, which develops office buildings, retail shopping centers, industrial facilities, apartment buildings and urban mixed-use projects in the Carolinas. Peace Interludes are FREE music appreciation gatherings that unpack the rich traditions and diverse styles of great composers. Each month will feature a unique composer and drink pairing, providing a multi-sensory sip, listen, and learn experience that highlights a musical period.

The Peace Center’s Peace Voices Poetry program and the Fine Arts Center’s creative writing department partner to host a poetry reading for National Poetry Month, where students from both programs will showcase their work. The featured guest poet will be Sabrina Orah Mark, the author of the poetry collections The Babies and Tsim Tsum. Mark holds an M.F.A. from The University of Iowa Writers’ Workshop and a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia. Her awards include a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship.

We meet parents who are struggling to do their best for their kids, incredible teachers who model what early childhood classrooms should and could be like, and children learning and developing in real time. These positive, hopeful stories serve as motivational tools in both the film and the No Small Matter campaign: Change is necessary, critical, and attainable if we put our minds to it.
